Aiguière "Aftafa", en cuivre étamé et son bassin polylobé.
La grille percée et ciselée de quatre larges feuilles, l'ensemble en très bon état.
Originaire de l'Azerbaïdjan et de la fin du XIXème siècle.

Notre modèle (complet) provient du Nord-ouest de la Perse, l'Iran oriental, l'Azerbaïdjan .
On trouve deux modèles d'aiguières "Aftafa" similaires en cuivre jaune dans la collection de la fondation Heydar Aliyev.
La forme, et l'esprit du décor sont en tout points identiques.

La panse est plate sur ses deux faces, et présente un décor harmonieux .
Un fretel surplombe le dessus, une large poignée en bronze, une large bague au col et un long bec subliment la pièce.

.Cette aiguière ou cruche Aftafa est essentiellement utilisée pour les ablutions, se laver le visage et les mains, au moment des cérémonies religieuses mais aussi pour passer à table.

Our model comes from the North-West of Persia , Eastern Iran, Azerbaijan.
There are two similar Aftafa ewers in yellow copper in the collection of the Heydar Aliyev foundation.
The shape and the spirit of the decor are identical in all respects.
The body is flat on both sides, and has a simple and harmonious decor
. This Aftafa ewer or jug is mainly used for ablutions, washing the face and hands, during religious ceremonies but also for eating. "The feast of the initiates, standing ready to serve, the beauties from all sides hold the ewer in their hands; the times of love wash their hands with all their soul; while the beauties pour the water, the ewer by hand "Reading and translation, AS Melikian-Chirvani, 1973 p 119.
