Il était un temps ou de nombreuses personnes faisaient le grand voyage, vers l'Inde,
chaque frontière se passait sans souci, les temps ont bien changé !
De la collection d'un ancien hippy, voyageur infatigable,
qui a passé de nombreuses années en territoire indien et a conservé ces textiles pieusement.

Magnifique exemplaire ancien de broderie miroir appelé en Inde Sheesha, vers 1970 .
Textiles qui n'ont rien à voir avec ceux d'aujourd'hui.

type de broderie sur des coupons de coton coloré, cousus au point de croix avec des incrustations de petits miroirs ronds.
De l'art moderne ou art contemporain avant l'heure, on y voit des paysages ou des villages.
Cet artisanat est né en Perse au XIII siècle, c'est dire l'ancienneté de cette technique, et s'introduit en Inde pendant la période Moghole vers le XVIIème siècle.
## Kathiawar et Kach sont des centres importants de la broderie au point de chaînette.
Le travail le plus caractéristique se voit sur les vieilles jupes de satin et de coton brodées aux soies les plus brillantes, de semis de fleurs et de bordures de fleurs et d'oiseaux.
De nombreux endroits du Rajpoutana et du Pendjab sont notoires pour les corsages brodés.
Dans presque tout ces travaux on emploie d'innombrables petits morceaux de verres miroirs, faisant partie du dessin et fixés par un cercle au point de boutonnière.
La quantité de verre est parfois telle que le poids du vêtement le rend inconfortable.
On retrouve ce type de travail en Afghanistan, mais avec une technique un peu différente.

From the collection of a former hippy, tireless traveler, who spent many years in Indian territory and preserved these textiles piously.

Textiles that have nothing to do with those of today.
## From a collection of 9 pieces. type of embroidery on coupons of colored cotton, sewn in cross stitch with inlays of small round mirrors.
Modern art or contemporary art before its time, we see landscapes or villages.
This craft was born in Persia in the 13th century, which is to say the antiquity of this technique, and was introduced in India during the Mughal period around the 17th century.
## Kathiawar and Kach are important centres of chain-stitch embroidery.
The most characteristic work is seen on old satin and cotton skirts embroidered with the brightest silks, with flower-scatterings and borders of flowers and birds.
Many places in Rajputana and the Punjab are noted for embroidered bodices.
In almost all this work innumerable small pieces of mirror glass are employed, forming part of the design and fixed by a hoop at the buttonhole stitch. The quantity of glass is sometimes so great that the weight of the garment makes it uncomfortable.
This type of work is also found in Afghanistan, but with a slightly different technique.
