Ce grand Hanbel de la tribu Zemmour, est originaire du Moyen-Atlas au Maroc.
Les Hanbels sont tissés uniquement par les femmes de cette ethnie, considérées comme les plus habiles dans l'art du tissage au Maroc.
Notre modèle de grande taille, mesure 210 cm de large par 294 cm de long, les franges en très bon état, lui donne une longueur totale de 323 cm.
Le tapis est couvert de motifs tribaux propres à cette tribu, il y a toujours une importance considérable des techniques et du sacré pour ces femmes dans la fabrication de ces pièces, les superstitions sont présentes comme au Caucase ou en Asie centrale ... dans ces tapis d'ethnies.
Les hanbels sont des tapis très solides et légers par rapport aux tapis à haute laine et à points noués.
Ils sont utilisés comme décoration ou couverture et alternent entre plusieurs motifs géométriques dans le sens de la longueur.
On trouve des triangles à merlons (comme l'exige la tradition berbère), des zigzags, des croisillons, des chaînettes,..... Tout cela compose le répertoire ornemental ethnique.
Ils sont composés d'un décor de points noués avec de larges listels aux chevrons pennés à points tissés et formé de losanges grands et petits comme le sont les kilims.
Ce tissage hanbel est d’une grande finesse. Il possède un décor dont les motifs sont communs au groupe des Zemmour et aussi à d’autres groupes ethniques du Moyen-Atlas.
Toutefois pour des raisons pratiques, il est communément admis d’attribuer aux Zemmour ce type de tissage.

This great Hanbel from the Zemmour tribe is from the Middle Atlas in Morocco.
Hanbels are woven only by women of this ethnic group, considered to be the most skilled in the art of weaving in Morocco.
Our large size model, measures 210 cm wide by 294 cm long, the fringes in very good condition, gives it a total length of 323 cm.
The carpet is covered with tribal patterns specific to this tribe, there is always a considerable importance of techniques and the sacred for these women in the manufacture of these pieces, superstitions are present as in the Caucasus, Central Asia ... in these rugs.

It has a decoration whose motifs are common to the Zemmour group and also to other ethnic groups of the Middle Atlas.
However, for practical reasons, it is commonly accepted to attribute this type of weaving to the Zemmour.
