Perse, important plat au "Lion Solaire", XIXème siècle, diamètre 45 cm, travail

Superbe plat creux en laiton du XIXème siècle origaire de la Perse aujourd'hui Iran, à décor foisonnant d'un travail ancien au repoussé.
On y retrouve dans la bordure l'emblème de la Perse le "lion solaire" armé de son sabre ainsi que des grandes outardes oiseaux très présents dans les grandes plaines iraniennes;
Au centre un mouton surmonté d'un oiseau portant dans son bec une branche.
Autour de cette scène, une frise de nombreux animaux.
En extérieur une large frise en calligraphie termine ce plat d'une riche décoration.
Superbe patine pour l'ensemble de l'objet.
## Le lion solaire est l'emblème de la Perse royale et le motif central du drapeau de l'Iran de 1576 à 1579.
Le motif remonte à l'époque pré-islamique.
La religion de l'Iran de cette époque (zoroastrisme) considérait le feu comme un élément sacré et le soleil était aussi vénéré.
Le motif représente le soleil dans le signe astrologique du lion.
Un sabre a été ajouté dans la patte avant dextre du lion au XVIème siècle, il est ici un symbole, rappelant au choix la justice ou le pouvoir guerrier du Shahanshah.
Le motif apparait dans l'art islamique vers la fin du XIIème siècle, il est attesté sur les pièces frappées par Kay KHUSHRAW II, le sultan seldjoukide de Roum en Anatolie.
Une miniature de 1423 le montre utilisé comme emblème de drapeau de cavaliers timourides (donc mongols) approchant les murs de Nishapur dans le Khorassan iranien.
Signe héraldique parmi tant d’autres au départ, le lion solaire était devenu le symbole de la Perse au moment du règne d’ Abbas le Grand.

"Dish With Sun Lion, Royal Persia, XIXc"
A superb hollow dish from the 19th century from Persia today Iran, with abundant decoration.
We find there in the broadside the emblem of Persia the "solar lion" armed with his saber as well as the great bustards birds very present in the great Iranian plains;
In the center, a sheep surmounted by a bird carrying a branch in its beak. Around a frieze of many animals.
Outside, a large frieze in calligraphy completes this richly decorated dish. Superb patina for the whole object.
## The sun lion is the emblem of royal Persia and the central motif of the flag of Iran from 1576 to 1579.
The motif dates back to pre-Islamic times. The religion of Iran at that time (Zoroastrianism) considered fire as a sacred element and the sun was also revered.
The pattern represents the sun in the astrological sign of Leo.
A saber was added to the dexter front paw of the lion in the 16th century, it is here a symbol, recalling either the justice or the warlike power of the Shahanshah.
The motif appears in Islamic art towards the end of the 12th century, it is attested on the coins minted by Kay KHUSHRAW II, the Seljuk sultan of Roum in Anatolia.
A miniature from 1423 shows it used as the flag emblem of Timurid (thus Mongol) horsemen approaching the walls of Nishapur in Iranian Khorassan. A heraldic sign among many others at first, the solar lion had become the symbol of Persia at the time of the reign of Abbas the Great.
