Tapis Oushak ancien dit aussi Ouchak, Uschak, Usak en laine sur laine à décor d'un grand médaillon bleu gris et de motifs floraux, Anatolie occidentale, Turquie, noué main en 1930, marqué quatre fois sur le tapis. (voir photos).
De couleurs franches, jaune d'or, brun, le médaillon bleu-gris se détache sur un grand champ uni rouge, serti par quatre écoinçons à dominante or.
L'ensemble est cerné d'une large bordure fleurie se détachant sur un fond brun.
Les Oushak sont entièrement en laine avec un velours ras et serré, ces tapis régionaux étaient auparavant, plus géométriques et évoluérent en arabesques et vrilles jaunes sur fond rouge, formant des suites de boucles et d'entrelacs.
C'est sur les Oushak que l'on trouve une innovation, le médaillon, que les turcs empruntérent aux noueurs persans.
Le médaillon apparait au seizième siècle sur ces tapis d'Anatolie, en effet l'empire ottoman occupait la Perse pendant cette période, et les échanges étaient nombreux .
Les Oushak se " rapprochent " d'un type de tapis peint par un peintre vénitien, Lorenzo Lotto (1480 - 1557) et un peintre Allemand Hans Holbein ( 1497 - 1543) .
Ceux sont ces tapis turcs que l'on posait sur des tables, des balcons et que l'on pendait aux murs à cette époque.
On exporta ces tapis dans les grands hôtels européens au cours du XIXème siècle.
En effet, les tapis de Turquie bénéficiaient d'une grande réputation et étaient considérés comme meilleurs que les tapis persans .
Ce n'est que vers la fin du XIXème siècle que les occidentaux firent remonter la cote des persans
Notre modèle possède des nuances remarquables et est en bon état vu son âge, le fond bleu-gris du médaillon fait ressortir magnifiquement les jaunes et les rouges.
La couleur des deux galons qui ceinturent la bordure est de couleur ivoire et laisse apparaître une multitude de fleurs stylisées.
En résumé, ce tapis est un exemplaire précis du type Oushak, riche en couleur et en très bon état .
Ce tapis a été nettoyé de façon professionnelle et écologique.

"Old Oushak, 137 Cm X 202 Cm, Hand-knotted Wool In Anatolia In 1930, Very Good Condition"
Old Oushak carpet also called Ouchak, Uschak, Usak in wool on wool decorated with a large gray blue medallion and floral motifs, Western Anatolia, Turkey, hand-knotted in 1930, marked four times on the carpet.
(see photos). In bold colors, golden yellow, brown, the blue-gray medallion stands out against a large plain red field, set with four predominantly gold spandrels.
The whole is surrounded by a large flowery border standing out against a brown background.
The Oushak are entirely made of wool with a short and tight pile, these regional carpets were previously more geometric and evolved into arabesques and yellow tendrils on a red background, forming series of loops and interlacing.
It is on the Oushaks that we find an innovation, the medallion, which the Turks borrowed from the Persian knotters.
The medallion appears in the sixteenth century on these carpets of Anatolia, indeed the Ottoman Empire occupied Persia during this period, and the exchanges were numerous.
The Oushaks are "close" to a type of carpet painted by a Venetian painter, Lorenzo Lotto (1480 - 1557) and a German painter Hans Holbein (1497 - 1543).
These are the Turkish carpets that were placed on tables, balconies and hung on the walls at that time.
These rugs were exported to major European hotels during the 19th century.
Indeed, Turkish carpets enjoyed a great reputation and were considered better than Persian carpets and it was only towards the end of the 19th century that Westerners raised the Persian price.
