"Pot à eau appelé "su Kabi" en cuivre étamé, originaire de Turquie, début du XXème siècle"
Ce type de pot, aujourd'hui quasiment introuvable, servait pour le transport de l'eau.
Utilisé surtout dans les villes pour aller à la fontaine ou au puit .
Dans les campagnes, l'utilisation de la terre cuite était plus courante.
Les poteries sont fabriquées dans de nombreuses régions d'Anatolie.
L'usage d'ustensiles en métal n'est pas encore répandu partout dans les années 1950/1960 et notamment dans les campagnes.
En cuivre étamé, ces pots gardaient la fraîcheur de l'eau et étaient joliment décorés de frises et souvent martelés.
La fabrication des su kabi s'est faite de la fin du XIXème siècle aux années 50 et sont aujourd'hui des objets de curiosité ou de décoration .
Le travail du cuivre et du fer en Turquie se pratiquent dans certaines villes : Kaisery, Tokat, Brousse mais aussi à Istanbul, près de la mosquée de Bayézid.
Objet d'art populaire, simple et rustique, il n'en n'ai pas moins la mémoire de certaines populations 
La corvée d'eau était surtout le travail des femmes, en allant chercher l'eau aux fontaines des villes.

The manufacture of su kabi was done from the end of the 19th century to the 1950s and are today objects of curiosity or decoration.
