Beau tapis Sirdjan début du XXème siècle vers 1920, 1930, habillé d'un large médaillon justaposé et de quatre bouquets posés dans des vases en arbre de vie.
L'ensemble appliqué sur un champ rouge écarlate très lumineux ceint par une large bordure de fleurs stylisées.
Ce tapis mesure 138 cm x 209 cm de long, reste en très bel état pour un age approchant les 100 ans
bel exemplaire dans son jus qui plaira au connaisseur , les extrémités sont à franges très courtes comme sur la quasi totalité des tapis anciens.
Dans le sud-est de l'Iran, autour de la ville de Kerman, vivent les semi-nomades de la tribu Afshar qui nouent les Tapis Afshar mais aussi les Sirdjan.
Depuis longtemps,ces nomades vivaient dans le nord-ouest de l'Iran.
Puis une partie de la population se déplaça vers le sud-est où la fabrication des tapis représentait un secteur économique important et ce depuis le milieu du XIXème siècle.
Ces tapis ont des nuances rosé, rouge, ocre, de nombreux bleus, violine et la majorité d'entre eux portent des motifs géométriques.
Le motif le plus courant utilisé est composé d'un grand champ central avec un ou plusieurs médaillons carrés, mais celui que l'on dénomme Sirdjan est plus souvent accompagné d'un médaillon central.
Certains décors représente la peau d'un animal tendue avant d'être tannée.
Ce qui est typique des tapis  Sirdjan et Afshar, c'est qu'ils sont relativement larges par rapport à leur longueur.
Les tapis Sirdjan sont donc également commercialisés sous le nom de Tapis Afshar.
Une pièce de collection avant tout, ce superbe tapis est une oeuvre d'art proche de l'art moderne voir contemporain qui peut se mettre au mur mais reste très solide pour un usage courant et pour du grand passage.

Beautiful Sirdjan rug from the beginning of the 20th century around 1920, 1930, dressed in a large juxtaposed medallion and four bouquets placed on a very bright scarlet red field surrounded by a wide border of stylized flowers.
This carpet measures 138 cm x 209 cm long, remains in good condition for an age approaching 100 years old, beautiful copy in its own juice which will please the connoisseur with its use wear, the ends are very short fringed as on almost all old carpets.
In the southeast of Iran, around the city of Kerman, live the semi-nomads of the Afshar tribe.
For a long time, these nomads lived in the northwest of Iran.
Then part of the population moved to the south-east where the manufacture of carpets represented an important economic sector and this since the middle of the 19th century.
These carpets have shades of pink, red, ocher, many blues, purple and the majority of them bear geometric patterns.
The most common pattern used is composed of a large central field with one or more square medallions, but the one called Sirdjan is more often medallion.
Some decorations represent the skin of an animal stretched before being tanned.
What is typical of Sirdjan and Afshar rugs is that they are relatively wide compared to their length.
Sirdjan rugs are also marketed under the name Afshar rugs.
A collector's item above all, this superb rug is a work of art close to modern or even contemporary art which can be put on the wall but remains very solid for everyday use and for large passages.
