Tapis Chelaberd ancien, Caucase, 145 cm x 227 cm, noué main, laine/laine, karaba

Somptueux (il n'y a pas d'autre mot) tapis Kazak Tjelaberd ou Chelaberd (village de Chelaberd) nommé " Kazak aux aigles" originaire du Caucase. Situation proche du Karabagh et proche de la Géorgie,en laine sur laine nouée main, avant 1950 .
Ce qui surprend, sur ce modèle, ce sont les nuances que ce tapis arbore, des couleurs que ces tapis nommés Kazak, Chelaberd, Tjelaberd ou Tchalabert n'ont pas ou peu coutume d'emprunter.
La brillance de la laine prouve sa qualité.
Les teintes régulièrement utilisées sont le rouge, le bleu et le blanc.
A noter les changements de bain des laines, ce qui prouve et donne un caractère authentique à notre modèle.
Les femmes nouent ces tapis chez elles et en groupe, il n'y a pas comme en Turquie ou en Iran d'importants groupements dictants des dessins ou des coloris appropriés à une clientèle touristique
On trouve peu de tapis de ce genre de couleur, chataîgne, lichen et gris et or, orangé et nuancé de violine.
Les modèles de couleurs peu communes font probablement parti du groupe des plus anciens de ce genre et il semble que les motifs plus simples et plus dépouillés seraient un facteur d'ancienneté.
Ces tapis sont appelés "Kazak aux aigles", "Kazak adler" ( aigle en Allemand ), "Kazak aux armoiries", mais encore, "Kazak aux sabres".
Les dessins sont typiques de ce genre, et donc très reconnaissables dans les nombreux décors de tapis Caucasiens et Arméniens.
Il est donc impossible de les confondre.
Les anglais les nomment "Sunburst Kazakh", soleil flamboyant.
Certains, y voient, le vol figuré d'un aigle, des sabres entrecroisés, ou des armoiries anciennes qui nous font penser à l'aigle bicéphale des blasons nobiliaires des anciens empires de Russie et d'Allemagne, c'est pouquoi ils sont nommés "Kazak Adler".
Les tapis Seychour présentent eux aussi un décor typique très sophistiqué, ressemblant à un oiseau stylisé et pourtant leur situation géographique de création est beaucoup plus loin vers la Mer Caspienne.
Dans le champ de cette pièce, nous retrouvons deux grands aigles.
La bordure principale stylisée, longée d' unegrecque ressemblant à la bordure caucasienne appelée "chien qui court".
Cette bordure présente un motif en " S " couchés ayant une ressemblance avec la bordure Géorgienne dite du " chien qui court " que l'on retrouve sur de nombreux Caucases mais qui peut être aussi la signification de Dieu.
Un merveilleux tapis en parfait état, les Chelaberd sont dans le groupe des Caucases les tapis les plus passionants.

"Old Chelaberd Rug, Caucasus, 145 Cm X 227 Cm, Hand-knotted, Wool/wool, Karabagh, Before 1950"
Sumptuous (there is no other word) Kazak Tjelaberd or Chelaberd carpet (village of Chelaberd) named "Kazak with eagles" originating from the Caucasus.
Location close to Karabagh and close to Georgia, in wool on hand-knotted wool, before 1950.
What surprises, on this model, are the shades that this carpet sports, colors that these carpets named Kazak, Chelaberd, Tjelaberd or Tchalabert have little or no habit of borrowing.
The brilliance of the wool proves its quality.
The colors regularly used are red, blue and white.
There are few carpets of this kind of color, brown, red and gray, orange or nuanced with blue.
The uncommon color patterns are probably among the oldest group of this kind and it seems that the simpler and more stripped patterns would be a factor of antiquity.
These carpets are called "Kazak with eagles", "Kazak adler" (eagle in German), "Kazak with coats of arms", but also, "Kazak with sabers".
The designs are typical of this genre, and therefore very recognizable in the many decorations of Caucasian and Armenian carpets.
It is therefore impossible to confuse them.
The English call them "Sunburst Kazakh", blazing sun.
Some see in it the figured flight of an eagle, crossed sabers, or ancient coats of arms which make us think of the double-headed eagle of the noble coats of arms of the old empires of Russia and Germany, which is why they are named Kazak Adler.
The Seychour rugs also present a very sophisticated typical decoration, resembling a stylized bird and yet their geographical location of creation is much further towards the Caspian Sea.
In the field of this piece, we find two large eagles.
The stylized main border, bordered by a Greek border resembling the Caucasian border called "running dog".
This border presents a recumbent "S" pattern having a resemblance to the Georgian border known as the "running dog" which is found on many Caucasus but which can also be the meaning of God.
A wonderful rug in pristine condition, the Chelaberds are the most exciting rugs in the Caucasus group.
