Tapis Gashghaï, laine/laine, 115 x 152 cm, fin XIXème siècle

Tapis Gashghaï à décor de médaillons justaposés, beau modèle ancien de la fin du XIXème siècle.
Il toise, 115 cm de large par 152 cm de long, en laine sur laine de grande qualité, originaire d' Iran en bon état avec de légères usures.
La couleur claire, chameau sur le champ sombre donne un contraste lumineux, et son dessin d'une grande complexité, deux grands médaillons, posés sur un champ foncé, laisse apparaitre de nombreux motifs tribaux et végétaux stylisés.
La bordure se compose de feuilles alternées de fleurs stylisées et agrémente tout le pourtour avec une grande élégance.
Ces tapis sont noués dans la région de Shiraz située à proximité de l'ancienne Persépolis qui donna son nom à la Perse, de nos jours, Iran.
Shiraz est dans la province de Fars ou les tribus Gashghaïs résident et produisent des tapis sous les deux appelations, Shiraz ou Ghashghaï.

Gashghaï rug with decorated medallions, beautiful old model from the end of the XIXth century, measuring, 115 cm wide by 152 cm long, in wool on high quality wool, originating in Iran in good condition with slight wear.
The light camel-colored colors on the dark field give a luminous contrast, and the very complex design, two large medallions, placed on a dark field, reveals numerous tribal and stylized plant motifs.
The border consists of alternating leaves of stylized flowers and decorates the entire periphery with great elegance.
These carpets are knotted in the Shiraz region located near the ancient Persepolis which gave its name to Persia, nowadays, Iran.
Shiraz is in the province of Fars where the Gashghaï tribes reside and produce carpets under the two names, Shiraz or Ghashghaï.
